About MeMy name is Conner Ayers and I look forward to working with the families and students of New West this year. I believe getting off to the right start in high school sets students up for an enjoyable and enriched four years.
I just completed my first year teaching at new West and am excited to return for more. I come to New West having taught for one year at Jordan High School in Watts and for two years at Rise Kohyang Middle School in the Koreatown neighborhood. My experiences in those two neighborhoods have taught me that all students can learn and succeed at high levels. I have very high expectations for students as I push them to succeed every day throughout the school year. I grew up in the Midwest in the city of Indianapolis and graduated from Indiana University in Bloomington, IN. I received my Masters Degree from LMU here in LA. I student taught at a high school in the Chicago Public School system where my desire to work in cities grew. This wall, I am also pursuing my doctorate at the University of Southern California.
